What is EMS?

EMS means Emergency Medical Support. It is a unique subscription based service model improvised by MediQ diagnostic services. It is designed to serve community interest involving the professional assistance during any medical emergency arising at home. It is intended to function as a first responder during any medical emergency of the people who are enrolled as the member of EMS programme. Anyone without membership can avail EMS at regular charges but that will remain subject to the availability of EMS personnel.

What is the scope of EMS functioning as a medical support provider?
  • Responding to any medical emergency call from the members.
  • Online counselling, sharing relevant information and facilitating the procurement of Ambulance/Oxygen/ urgent medical procedure etc. round the clock.
  • Medical support to be provided at home during working hours of MediQ (9am to 9pm on weekdays and 9am to 4pm on Sunday/ holidays.)
  • Medical support to be provided at home includes
      • Sending doctor/ paramedic/nurse/ nursing attendant/ physiotherapist as per member’s request/ depending on the nature of medical emergency and availability of personnel.
      • Any paramedic visiting your home shall work under the guidance of an empanelled doctor of EMS.
      • On the spot medical decisions / procedures to be undertaken by the paramedic need to be approved by EMS critical care team led by a critical care specialist doctor via video call / phone call.
      • If the emergency situation requires rapid shifting of patients to a near-by hospital/ clinical set-up, the EMS team will facilitate the procurement of Ambulance/ Oxygen/ medical support and enable the member to reach the hospital at the earliest.
      • In case of life threatening situations which require on-spot medical intervention like cardiac arrest/ shock, EMS medical team will follow the standard protocol of cardiac resuscitation with prior consent of a family member.
      • In moderate cases of medical emergency, as per the advice of treating doctor/ EMS doctor, the paramedic will perform the procedures which include oxygenation /nebulisation/ RT feeding/ catheterisation/wound dressing/ putting the patient on BIPAP/ C-PAP,  i.v. /i.m. medication/ checking vital parameters/ using multi para monitor/drawing sample for investigation/ ECG/ X-ray/ Holter monitoring/ PFT/ EEG at home.
      • In non-emergency cases, an EMS team will visit the member’s home to extend any kind of medical assistance if the member is non-ambulatory/ visually handicapped.
      • Our EMS team will always help the members to find a doctor/ clinic/ diagnostic service over the phone.
      • EMS team will help a member to reach EMS enlisted clinic/ hospital/ diagnostic centre by arranging a paid pick-up and drop service.
      • The EMS team will help the member to get a second opinion in complicated cases which seems to be very confusing to the member or his/her family members.
  • Managing a system of keeping your current health status, anticipated health problems, detailed medical history and updating the record from time to time. 
  • Providing a Smart EMS membership card inscribed with most relevant health information like whether you are diabetic/on insulin/ on certain heart conditions/ on pacemaker/ having neurological problems like seizure/Alzheimer’s disease etc. It will enable your physician/ care giver during an emergency to make the correct decision in time and will help your rescuer if you are found unconscious/ in a condition not able to communicate properly.
  • On the basis of informations gathered by our team during registration EMS system will have the information in relation to whom to contact if you are not able to respond to our call/ whom to contact if your phone number is not working/ your residence could not be located/ whether the approach road/ alley to your residence is accessible to ambulance/ What is your preferred hospital during emergency/ whether you do have any kind of health insurance/ corporate/ governmental sponsorship on in-patient care. All this information will help us to find the most effective EMS service for you.
What are the privileges of an EMS card holder? (EMS Gold Card)
  • Members having EMS gold card will have the following privileges.

    • FREE  annual health check up incl. Blood for CBC, FBS, Lipid Profile, Uric Acid, ECG, ECHO screening, Urine R/E, M/E & Doctor’s consultation [worth Rs 1500]
    • 20% discount on any regular diagnostic services incl. home services offered by MediQ and 10% discount on services outsourced by MediQ such as CT scan/MRI/ PET SCAN etc.
    • 15% discount on any regular charges of EMS services.
    • FREE home collection if net bill amount on regular diagnostic services is above Rs 499
    • Free pick-up and drop services from your home to our speciality doctors clinic and diagnostic centre if net bill amount is above Rs.2999. In other cases pick up and drop services will be available on a discounted charge of Rs 200/ Km
    • FREE online counselling.
    • Priority on getting an appointment.
    • FREE Clinical summary report once in a year.
What are the privileges of an EMS card holder? (EMS Silver Card)
  • Members having EMS silver card will have the following privileges.

      1. FREE  annual health check up incl. Blood for CBC, FBS, Lipid Profile, Uric Acid, ECG, Urine R/E, M/E & Doctor’s consultation [worth Rs 1000]
    • 20% discount on any regular diagnostic services incl. home services offered by MediQ and 10% discount on services outsourced by MediQ such as CT scan/MRI/ PET SCAN etc.
    • 10% discount on any regular charges of EMS services.
    • FREE home collection if net bill amount on regular diagnostic services is above Rs 499
    • Free pick-up and drop services from your home to our speciality doctors clinic and diagnostic centre if net bill amount is above Rs.2999. In other cases pick up and drop services will be available on a discounted charge of Rs 200/ Km

What Are the charges for an EMS Membership card

EMS GOLD CARD : Rs. 1499 ( annual)

EMS SILVER CARD: Rs 999 ( annual)

Terms & Conditions

  1. Membership privileges are limited to the card holder only. 
  2. Membership is non-transferable.
  3. No privileges can be claimed after the expiry of validity date.
  4. All EMS services are chargeable. Before asking for a particular EMS service please go through the EMS price list available at our website or just call the EMS helpline.
  5. Online counselling is free and available 24×7.
  6. If you have any grievances please call our service manager.
  7. EMS service is subject to the availability of EMS personnel.
  8. If our EMS team is busy somewhere while you are asking for assistance, you may opt for other choices than our EMS.
  9. If you feel that expected time by which the EMS team will be available does not permit waiting given the urgency/ condition of the patient, you should rush to the nearest hospital. 
  10. EMS service at your home is available from 9am to 9pm on all weekdays and from 9am to4pm on Sunday/ holidays.
  11. In case of death of the patient before reaching the hospital, EMS team should never be responsible for issuing death certificate. In this regard, stipulated rules or laws applicable in such cases must be followed.
  12. It is the responsibility of member to call us for renewal of membership card at least 7 days prior to the date of expiry.
  13. In case of non-payment of service charges for more than 14 days from date of services offered, the ,membership will be automatically terminated.
  14. Renewal of membership during anytime of the year can be done on charges of Actual annual membership.
  15. Any duplicate membership card can be availed on charges of Rs 200 only.
  16. Updating of your health record will be free of cost if clinical/ diagnostic services are availed from MediQ. In other cases, manual entry of outside data will incur the charge of Rs 500 for each session.
